Wondering about the photo of the flower that heads this page? It’s from a series of photos I took in a local graveyard on one VERY sunny day in 2015. This is a coneflower, from the species Echinacea. Echinacea is from the Greek for hedgehog. The flower name refers to hedgehogs because of the spiny central area. You can read more about coneflowers here.
