I love having the opportunity to hear a poet read her own work. It makes such a difference, when you are reading other work by that poet, if you can imagine the tone of voice that might accompany the work.
Unfortunately, I can’t always get to see a poet in person, nor does every poet give readings enough to give people the opportunity to experience her voice.
Solution: recordings available on demand. Internet to the rescue!
I’ve started a page for recordings of single poems. I’ve managed to get the first one posted, and as I figure out the proper workflow, I will get a handful more posted. I’ll start with poems from my book Stars Crawl Out From Their Caves which is available in ebook and paper format. As new recordings become available, I’ll post on the blog.
